Is it wrong to take pride in who you are right now?

Caleb and I wrapped up Andrea's Mastermind a couple weeks ago at The Point Retreat, in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota.

It was a whirlwind of activity and there was a lot of planning and adapting that went into this to make it the success that it was.

I'm so proud of every step along the way.

There were hours of teaching that needed recorded for her online course, behind the scenes photos and videos, live-streaming, updated brand photos, testimonial videos, a promo video for the next Mastermind, and branding mini-sessions for those that attended, all wrapped into this 3 day event.

There were so many things that were out of our control, during the Mastermind.

We needed to adapt and overcome on the spot.

From the cold/windy/rainy weather that wasn't forecasted, to the internet issues that arose with the livestream.

Had we not prepared to be adaptable, this stuff would have caused SO MUCH STRESS and potentially not allowed us to serve our clients well.

But we had prepared and we knew we could adapt.

We took each challenge as it came and I'm so proud of how we showed up for our clients.

Being a recovering perfectionist I used to only let myself feel proud when I got the result I wanted or hit the goal I set.

What I needed was to be proud of the way I adapted when stuff wasn't perfectly how we had planned or envisioned.

Waiting until it's perfect before celebrating is backwards.

We need to feel proud of ourselves in the journey towards the goals.

We need to feel proud of the fact that we're showing up. We're adapting. We're taking imperfect action. We're finding ways to overcome obstacles and grow.

This is how I want my clients, friends, and family to feel.

We are our own worst critics.

We don't naturally take time to celebrate those steps along the journey…it has to be an intentional decision.

This is something I've been implementing in my journey and it's made all the difference in how I show up and love and serve those around me.

I want to encourage you to be proud, intentionally, wherever you are in life. In the chaos, the imperfect actions, and all the messiness of life.

Coming from an extremely messed up upbringing where I was taught that “pride” is evil and it's considered humble to talk negatively about yourself and to have no self-worth, I know how challenging it can be to train your brain to be proud.

Now days, I actually take time to list out parts of my journey I'm proud of in that very moment.

I celebrate me, right where I'm at, and cheer myself on as I continue to dive into whatever I'm currently working on at that time.

I also am intentional about celebrating my clients, friends, and family on their journeys. Those imperfect actions they are taking are things to be proud of!

I want them to see just how awesome they really are.

I know how much that mindset shift as helped me in ALL areas of life.

Seeing the things I'm capable of just encourages me to continue to grow and take those imperfect steps toward whatever goals I set for myself.

I want to encourage you to take a moment to list out parts of your journey that you're proud of, those imperfect actions that you're taking right now.

Then, add a reminder to your calendar to do this once a week.

Do this throughout the remainder of the year.

I will be doing the same and I already know it's going to continue to help me show up in ways I am proud of for myself and those around me.

I'd love to hear if you have ever done something similar to this before and if you noticed a difference!

Cheering you on!

Amy
